What I really, really want is gender equality.
Spice Girls ‘Wannabe” Remix
#TBT to the Spice Girls 1996 hit, “Wannabe”… the chart topper has been remade to advocate for Women’s Rights. This Global Goals campaign’s #WhatIReallyReallyWant movement sheds light on key issues affecting women today, including education for women, ending child marriage, equal pay for equal work and ending violence against women.
Girls and women are disproportionately affected by these challenges and are vital to building resilient communities to withstand them. Global Goals, a UN initiative, views 2016 is our chance to use our collective power and tell world leaders what we really, really want for girls and women.
“I think this film is a wonderful idea,” said former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham. “How fabulous it is that after 20 years the legacy of the Spice Girls’ girl power is being used to encourage and empower a whole new generation?”
Viewers are called to join in the campaign online at globalgoals.org, by sharing a picture of #WhatIReallyReallyWant for girls and women. Responses will be shown to world leaders at the UN General Assembly during Global Goals Week in September 2016.
“The Global Goals will only ever be achieved if governments, businesses, communities and YOU invest in girls and women.”
#WhatIReallyReallyWant … is to improve the quality of life for women worldwide.
