Education Series: BEST – Presentation Skills

The DISH Women’s Network is committed to empowering our members through networking and career development. Based on your feedback, our members want more resources to sharpen their skills and further their careers. We are excited to announce a new training initiative you will see throughout this year! We will be offering professional development courses and workshops on presentation and public speaking skills, effective communication techniques, and much more!

Our first training, delivered by Sales Training & Support, will be on Tuesday, March 28th and focus on honing your presentation skills. The training will be from 8:30am—4:00pm in Training Room 3.

Prior to registering, please obtain your manager’s permission to do so.

Please come with a presentation that you have given in the past year, or an idea/concept of a presentation you will give this year. We will be referencing and building upon your idea throughout the training, and you will walk away with a next-level presentation!

Leader Series: Jacqueline (“Jacque”) Hinman – Chairman and CEO of CH2M


Please join us on Wednesday, March 22nd from 8:15 to 9:30 AM in the Mount Elbert Conference Room for a special breakfast fireside chat featuring Jacqueline (“Jacque”) Hinman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CH2M. We are thrilled to host Jacque as our first CEO and one of the 4% of women CEOs leading a Fortune 500 company.

CH2M is one of the world’s leading professional engineering design firms and is headquartered right here in the Meridian business park. CH2M has over 25,000 employees worldwide, providing services in over 50 countries and specializing in over 200 technical practice areas.

This special fireside chat will be hosted by our own Sruta Vootukuru (VP, Sling TV).

Dress for Success 5K Powerwalk

Dress for Success is holding a 5K Powerwalk event on Saturday, April 22nd, 10 AM at Central Park Stapleton. This is an exciting opportunity to help empower women who are working toward success and a better future.

International Women’s Day: Standing Up to the Bull

This week the DISH Women’s Network is inspired by the outpouring of actions for International Women’s Day. One particular action stands out as a true change catalyst.

State Street Global Advisors, an investor unit within State Street Corp, has unveiled a new statue on Wall Street: a young girl defiantly standing in front of the Bull on Wall Street.

They have input the statue to encourage and challenge boards to increase the number of women on their boards. Companies that fail to increase the number of women will be voted against boards by the Advisors.

We applaud this effort as not only symbolic but as a true action of change.
