Last August, the DISH Women’s Network was fortunate to host Alden Budill, VP of Distribution at OWN and Discovery in our Leader Series. Alden articulated the importance of maintaining your network, loving what you do, and staying true to yourself. If you missed her talk, you can watch it here.

We are thrilled to share that Alden is heading to the Pac-12 Network to head up distribution. She will oversee the network’s Affiliate Sales and Marketing Department. Alden will continue blazing the trail for female professionals within the sports industry, especially in this period of growth for Pac-12. We are incredibly grateful to have her as an ally for women in business, and are very excited to watch her career continue within our industry.

Congrats Alden!… Read more and comment

Women’s Equality Day

Rachael Kline | Marketing Specialist

Today in 2016, we have a woman running for the President of the United States, there’s a record number of women holding congress positions, and DISH Network just celebrated it’s one year anniversary of the Women’s Network founding. While we celebrate the monumental victories, it is equally important to keep a trained eye on the progress still need to be made across the world. In honor of Women’s Equality Day, let’s remember the work left to be done in equal pay, equal rights, and equal opportunity not only across the country, but across the globe. Let’s strive to build up our female colleagues, friends, and even strangers, and focus our efforts on perpetuating the progress. Today in 2016, let’s work towards a universal perspective of women, and keep the big picture in mind. Let’s use the past progress as our fuel to continue forward. Happy Women’s Equality Day!… Read more and comment

DISH Women’s Network Book Club & Book Swap

Please join us for our next book club as we discuss The Confidence Code by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman. This book explores the root of confidence, the role it plays in our lives and the choices we must make to be more confident.

We’ll also host a book swap and donation drive to share some of our favorite reads on leadership, the workplace and professional development. If possible, please bring one book to “swap” with other attendees and one to “share.” All donations will be delivered to the Center for Work, Education and Employment (CWEE), which helps low-income, single families gain the skills and education to gain long-term employment. The CWEE has specifically requested books on professional development.

If you can’t attend book club, but would still like to donate a book, please email
We look forward to seeing you there!

Please note: if you’re unable to attend during this date and time, there is an additional meeting on Friday, September 30th.
